Maybe one day they will dethrone me. Going off the topic of last week, I discussed Artisans\/Craftsman&#8217;s pay and their job description. I did not go into detail about their social status. So, let&#8217;s get into it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Artisans did not hold a very high role in society. I&#8217;ll say it one more time, it is a shame. Nobles, officials, and scholars at the top of the &#8220;social ladder&#8221;. Unfortunately, artisans were not ahead of them. With that being said, this does not mean that their hard work and dedication went to waste. Artisans were praised for their work. However, Artisans did great work but the people of Ancient China had some ridiculous expectations for these artisans. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">One thing that prevented them from climbing the social ladder was that the people higher up on the social ladder had an expectation for artisans that were outlandish. They created this thought of a perfect artisan and since their idea of this perfect artisan did not match any artisans at the time, they were pretty much looked down upon. There was one quality that artisans had that gave them recognition and that is the Qiao.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This word indicates the great skill an artisan has. There is another meaning to the word Qiao and the other meaning is to have the skill of trickery.
