I am coming off one week where I learned probably more then I could have every imagined learning. I have turned this into a big deal, I am well aware. When I first started scrolling through Edward Schafer’s book on Tang Exotics and I came across Lapis Lazuli, I was truly stunned to learned that this exotic ore was real. This leads me into three things I learned this past week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The first thing I learned this week was that Lapis Lazuli is real: As I stated in my opening paragraph like the broken record that I am, Lapis Lazuli is real!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The second thing I learned this week is that Lapis is used as a gift for people on the Tang dynasty. People would gift this ore to other people as people in Ancient China used it as jewelry. It’s beautiful blue shine was a very attractive item for someone to wear as a necklace or, some people would wear it on their head.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The third thing I learned this week is that this ore was used to decorate the Royal Garden. Hs\u00dcan Tsung would have his garden decorated with Lapis Lazuli as he thought Lapis Lazuli made the garden look better and more prestigious.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
